Aurora

Aurora Aksnes (born June 15 1995, from Stavanger) is a Norwegian musician and vocalist. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves has been released by Decca Records and was well received by music blogs. Half the World Away from the band Oasis was made for an advertisement for John Lewis, and Nature Boy is an Nat King Cole cover. The singer gained further attention through a tweet from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her song Runaway. Celebrate her special day. Aurora Aksnes' first musical memory involves finding a small piano that was in her basement and bewildered by the sound it created. Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes urged her to pursue music for personal growth, rather than for the purpose of making a living or to pursue an interest. She began to write with her own music. She cites renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan as influences as well as an appreciation for the style of Bjork. She decided to start performing the songs she wrote publicly after her mom suggested they might help others not be famous with her music, but rather to help the people around them understand the importance of their work and how they can affect the world. The mother of her child suggested that she sing her songs in public in order to make people aware of their importance and the ways they could impact the world. She didn't tell her family about her musical journey until she was 14. Aurora's accomplishments were never the goal of her. As she says, she just enjoys writing songs. The music she writes is her way of feeling any thing.
